District Identity and Streetscape Improvements - During the year, the District accomplished the following:Communications:* Produced and distributed two quarterly newsletters, mailed to property owners and delivered to apartment buildings in the neighborhood.* Initiated a monthly e-newsletter.* Continued to update and fine-tune the YBCBD website, www.ybcbd.org.* Produced second annual report and mailed it to all property owners.* Developed promotional rack cars outlining YBCBD services and programs.Neighborhood Identity:* Conducted market research and engaged more than 650 people in defining the neighborhood and identifying unique marketable assets.* Developed a neighborhood logo.* Began developing a neighborhood branding campaign that will launch by mid-2011.Neighborhood Events* Hosted four neighborhood block parties.* Sponsored ten neighborhood events.* Co-hosted a District 6 Supervisor Candidate Forum.* Hosted the first annual Yerba Buena Neighborhood Fair with 36 neighborhood vendors and more than 3,000 attendees.Community Benefit Fund* Selected the first round of Community Benefit Fund grantees. Funding priorities are public art, greening/streetscape, public safety, and youth engagement. Mini-grants were made available for resident projects.
