It is an estimated $150 billion industry that exists in every country and enslaves approximately 40.3 million people globally. Nomi Networks vision is a world without slavery where every woman can know her full potential. Our mission is to create economic opportunities for survivors and women at risk of human trafficking by equipping them with leadership, entrepreneurship, and technical skills to become financially independent. In India, our Rural Empowerment program provides livelihoods and workforce training to vulnerable women in trafficking hotspots in Bihar, Odisha, and West Bengal. These states have horrific outcomes for women and girls, along with some of the highest rates of bonded labor, caste discrimination, and social inequality. With employable skills and economic opportunities, our women are able to break cycles of poverty and exploitation that fuel modern day slavery. In Cambodia, we provide high-skills fashion training and capacity building for survivors and women at risk of trafficking. We partner with local organizations and social enterprises to provide fashion training and market access through our Nomi International Fashion Training school. By providing higher skills labor, we are empowering women to obtain higher skills work or to create their own enterprises. We are raising up a generation of fashion leaders who will help transform supply chains and reduce labor exploitation in Cambodia.”
