Kidz in motion was organized to foster child passsenger safety through education, best practices and technological advances through an annual educational and networking conference. The annual conference known as the kim conference, provides numerous educational sessions to interested parties including parents and caregivers. Child restraint manufacturers, vehicle manufacturers and child passenger safety professionals have the opportunity to meet discuss concerns and educate each other to advance the correct use of child restraint devices.
The field of child passenger safety (cps) is constantly evolving. Although the rate of deaths and injury to young children as the result of motor vehicle crashes is low in comparison to other age groups, cps advocates continue to record high misuse rates of child restraints, along with relatively low booster seat use. Emerging technologies, such as latch - lower anchors and tethers for children, meant to make child safety restraint use easier, have led to new patterns of misuse. Additionally, constant introductions of new child restraint products make it challenging for cps technicians and advocates to keep their level of knowledge current. Kidz in motion, inc. Was formed in 2003 with one purpose: to foster child passenger safety through education, best practices and technological advancements through an annual educational and networking conference. | IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 3 | THE FIELD OF CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY (CPS) IS CONSTANTLY EVOLVING. THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE, KNOWN AS THE KIM CONFERENCE, PROVIDES OVER 30 EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS TO CERTIFIED CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY TECHNICIANS, INSTRUCTORS, INSTRUCTOR CANDIDATES, FIREFIGHTERS, NURSES, DOCTORS, EMS/RESCUE WORKERS, HEALTH EDUCATORS, INJURY PREVENTION SPECIALISTS, ETC., IN ADDITION TO PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS. ALSO, CHILD RESTRAINT MANUFACTURERS, VEHICLE MANUFACTURERS AND CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY PROFESSIONALS AND ADVOCATES HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET, DISCUSS CONCERNS AND HELP EDUCATE EACH OTHER TO ADVANCE THE CORRECT USE OF CHILD RESTRAINT DEVICES BY ALL PARENTS. |
