Cooperativa Las Tres Palmas, Inc. (Las Tres Palmas or the Cooperative) was formed in 1998 as a California nonprofit public benefit corporation exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and Section 23701(d) of the California Revenue and Taxation Code. The Corporation is organized as a cooperative to provide affordable housing to its members. Members' contributions (Membership Certificates) are shown as part of net assets. The Board of Directors of Las Tres Palmas is elected from among the Cooperatives membership and serves without compensation.
