“Strategy:The Broadband Forum recognized the need to evolve our certification and technical standards remit and refocus our strategy to compliment our dedication to globalize how fixed broadband connectivity is enabled and deployed to wider scope on how broadband needs to evolve to meet that subscriber demands and intelligence to be application aware, enabling broadband to move from connectivity-driven to a services-led future. The Broadband Forum restructured its Member meetings to 100s of regular interim remote calendared work calls but only three face-to-face member meetings (previously 4) in 2024. These member meetings were held in Europe, Asia, and USA.The Broadband Forum also sun-setted its work on TR-069, Broadband CPE device management, and continues to put major work focus on its successor TR-369, which is a multi-device management tool including devices behind the consumer or business CPE device. While our standards and certification work for TR-069 are still valid, all future development is now focused on TR-369, User Services Platform. In 2024 we also included an industry-wide education event to be held in parallel with one of our Face-to-face member meetings. This education event, branded BASe Summit attracted over 200 participants.In addition, we also created two new open source initiatives (OB_CAS and OB-STAMP) to create open source software to support and complement our standards work.”
