Mission

The primary purpose of kids & cops is to teach young people how to make wise choices so they will grow up to be productive, law-abiding citizens who contribute to their community in a positive way. Kids & cops provides life skills training as well as drug awareness and violence protection education. Kids & cops concentrates on leadership, team building, self-esteem and problem-solving techniques. The hope is that young people will have the strengh, courage and confidence to make wise choices that protect themselves, their families, friends, and communities. Child safety programs are also one of the main areas of concentration.

FORT BEND COUNTY KIDS & COPS SUMMER CAMPS ARE FOR 10-12 YEAR OLDS CHILDREN. 8 CAMPS ARE PROVIDED EACH SUMMER WITH 60 KIDS IN EACH CAMP SO THE TOTAL CONTACTS FOR SUMMER CAMP TOTALS 480. CAMP GOALS ARE TO BOOST SELF-ESTEEM, PROMOTE LEADERSHIP, ENCOURAGE TEAMWORK AND DEVELOP PROBLEM-SOLVING TECHNIQUES AS WELL AS TO WORK ON LIFE SKILLS THAT WILL ASSIST YOUNG PEOPLE IN ACHIEVING A SUCCESSFUL FUTURE. THE STUDENTS LEARN TO FOLLOW RULES AND STILL HAVE FUN IN A POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT. THEY ARE ALSO ABLE TO DEVELOP A POSITIVE RAPPORT WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS.-$33,898
KIDS & COPS CLASSES ARE TAUGHT IN 53 ELEMENTARIES, 18 MIDDLE SCHOOLS AND 13 HIGH SCHOOLS IN FORT BEND COUNTY. THESE CLASSES ARE TAUGHT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ALL THE FORT BEND COUNTY SCHOOLS. THE ELEMENTARY CURRICULUM IS TAUGHT IN 5TH GRADE AND INCLUDES LIFE SKILLS TRAINING WITH A FOCUS ON ANTI-DRUG AND ANTI-VIOLENCE ISSUES. VISITS ARE DONE WITH PRE-K THROUGH 4TH GRADE AND SAFETY OR CRIME PREVENTION LESSONS ARE TAUGHT. MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS RECEIVE 4 LESSONS ON JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM-$10,152
COMMUNITY EVENTS WHICH INCLUDE SCHOOL/COMMUNITY HEALTH & SAFETY FAIRS, CARNIVALS, PRESENTATIONS TO COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS BOY SCOUTS, GIRLS SCOUTS, BOYS & GIRLS CLUB, ROTARY CLUBS, LION CLUBS, EXCHANGE CLUBS, AS WELL AS ACTIVITIES SUCH AS BIKE SAFETY, BULLYING, INTERNET SAFETY AND NUMEROUS OTHER CHILD SAFETY TOPICS, CHILD FINGERPRINTING, RED RIBBON PROGRAMS, NATIONAL NIGHT OUT, CAREER DAYS AT SCHOOLS, AND NUMEROUS OTHER SAFETY AND CRIME PREVENTION PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH AND ADULTS IN OUR COUNTRY. IRS990EZ/ProgramSrvcAccomplishmentGrp/DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt2KIDS & COPS CLASSES ARE TAUGHT IN 53 ELEMENTARIES, 18 MIDDLE SCHOOLS AND 13 HIGH SCHOOLS IN FORT BEND COUNTY. THESE CLASSES ARE TAUGHT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ALL THE FORT BEND COUNTY SCHOOLS. THE ELEMENTARY CURRICULUM IS TAUGHT IN 5TH GRADE AND INCLUDES LIFE SKILLS TRAINING WITH A FOCUS ON ANTI-DRUG AND ANTI-VIOLENCE ISSUES. VISITS ARE DONE WITH PRE-K THROUGH 4TH GRADE AND SAFETY OR CRIME PREVENTION LESSONS ARE TAUGHT. MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS RECEIVE 4 LESSONS ON JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM
