“The houston house foundation board of trustees is comprised of five voting members. Two voting members are appointed by the board of directors of ronald mcdonald house of houston, inc. (rmh houston) for two-year terms. These two trustees are considered the "house" trustees. The other three trustees are appointed by the five member trustees. The latter are considered the "independent or "foundation" trustees.”

“The form 990 is reviewed by the chief financial officer of rmh houston and presented to the houston house foundation trustees for review and approval prior to filing with the internal revenue service.”

“The interested transaction statement is distributed to foundation trustees requiring acknowledgment of receipt and disclosure of any potential conflict of interest. The executive director of rmh houston reviews the statements returned by the trustees for any disclosures. Any disclosures are reviewed and disclosed to the trustees and if additional actions are required then appropriate steps are taken.”

“The houston house foundation supports the following activities of ronald mcdonald house of houston, inc. In 2019, the houston house foundation provided grant support to the ronald mcdonald house of houston, inc. In the form of general operating support totaling $500,000. 70-bedroom ronald mcdonald house on holcombe boulevard: at the holcombe house, families stay in a home-like environment near the texas medical center hospitals while their seriously ill children are being treated as inpatients or outpatients. The renovation and expansion of the holcombe house was completed in 2018 and now has 70 bedrooms with private baths, a large communal kitchen/dining room, laundry room, tots' playroom and teen game room. The house encourages caring and sharing among guest families and their seriously ill children. Parents find mutual comfort and support from each other, and the children find playmates and friends who are going through similar treatments. 20-bedroom ronald mcdonald house located inside texas children's hospital: the tch house offers 20 bedrooms for napping and overnight sleep accommodations for families with children in intensive care units. The house has a kitchen, dining room, laundry room, library/computer room, and quiet room for families to use at their convenience. This house, in addition to overnight stays, offers daily usage of common areas for caregivers to relax, find a bite to eat, and/or talk with volunteers and other parents. This house provides the comforts of home within minutes of the child's treatment area and relieves some of the stress of spending hours or days in a sterile waiting room environment. 14-bedroom ronald mcdonald house located inside children's memorial hermann hospital: the cmhh house offers 14 bedrooms for napping and overnight sleep accommodations for families with children in intensive and/or acute care. The house has a family lounge with a kitchenette and laundry facilities. 4 family rooms inside texas children's hospital: rmh operates four family rooms in different locations throughout tch. One is located in the cancer outpatient clinic, another on the inpatient oncology/hematology floor, a third is in the cardiovascular intensive care unit, and a fourth is located in the tch pavilion for women. Each family room offers a quiet sitting area, dining tables, television, snacks, fresh coffee, and periodic meals provided by volunteers. The family rooms allow parents to stay within one minute of their child while grabbing a quick bite or quiet moment of respite. Family room at md anderson children's cancer hospital: located on the pediatric floor, this family room includes a lounge with a library and computers; a waiting area with aquarium, tv and comfortable seating; two sleep/nap rooms; and a kitchen where our famous chocolate chip cookies are served with love. Cookie corner at texas children's hospital west campus, katy, texas: rmh expanded in 2015 to help meet the needs of the patients being served at this expanding location. Located on the pediatric floor, our famous chocolate chip cookies are served with love.”
