Programs and service delivery 1.conducted 28 signature education programs with 304 graduates facilitated by over 150 program leader volunteers. 2.trained and certified 34 new program leaders for family to family, peer to peer, and ioov programs. 3.conducted 35 in our own voice presentations (ioov) and 6 school-based presentations (ending the silence ets and parents and teachers as allies ptaa) serving a total of 600 participants. 4.conducted 4 mental health 101 training sessions serving 225 participants. 5.provided peer-to-peer sessions at 7 restorative justice sites including crisis residential unit (southmore), crisis residential unit (caroline), bristow path center, judge ed emmett mh jail diversion center, texana crisis center, kashmere re-entry program and the women's home. 6.organized 228 peer sessions with 2,123 attendees at the restorative justice sites. 7.managed and hosted 21 virtual community support groups, serving 1,752 person-sessions. 8.expanded support group offerings to waller county. 9.sea center (support education advocacy) expanded in capacity, technology, and staff to respond to community needs through stresses of covid, lockdowns and civic unrest. We provided a stipend to peers in recovery to run this service. 10.sea center received 1,872 calls and emails, responded with 2,491 calls and emails. 11.conducted care outreach to nami community and alumni by sending out 8,204 calls and emails to provide care, support, and resources to those who needed them. 12.partnered with fort bend isd, katy isd, lamar consolidated isd, alief isd (fort bend) as well as houston isd and goose creek isd (harris county) to further school-based programs and parent engagement. 13.conducted de-escalation and crisis intervention training for police and detention officers and mental health training for juvenile probation officers for fort bend county sheriff's office. 14.presented 'outstanding intervention' awards to nearly 20 law enforcement officers from fort bend county sheriff's office, houston police department, harris county sheriff's office, and montgomery county sheriff's office. 15.trained and oriented mental health staff and managers from the wood group, nasa, chevron and teledyne on mental wellness. 16.oriented 70 new volunteers through monthly volunteer orientation sessions. New initiatives 17.launched tuesday talks, a series of discussions, interviews, and interaction with leaders in the mental health space, sharing their experiences on specific mental health topics. Hosted more than 30 tuesday talks throughout the year, broadcast live on social media platforms. 18.launched the diaspora dialogues, an awareness and capacity building project to increase access for mental health needs of black & latinx communities disproportionately affected by covid & civic unrest, which led to our diaspora project on mental health equity, accumulating more than 75 community advocate partners. 19.launched learning communities, a new model for volunteer engagement and learning through reflection and sharing, by holding monthly meetings for nami program leaders & facilitators to connect and learn using innovative participatory approaches. 20.staged and program-developed a community mental health model called healing circles to surface deep emotional trauma without explicit clinical terminology, to be implemented across deserving neighborhoods in houston. To be launched in 2021. 21.initiated monthly new volunteer orientations for community members interested in volunteering with nami. 22.created a capacity building program called "nests" to increase local community capacity with 79 community partners, to establish mental wellness centers (nests) in communities of color.
