It is the mission of Kitchen Dog Theater to provide a place where questions of justice, morality and human freedom can be explored. We choose plays that challenge our moral and social consciences, invite our audiences to be provoked, challenged, and amazed. We believe that the theater is a site of individual discovery as well as a force against conventional views of the self and experience. It is not a provider of answers, but an invitation to question. Since theater of this kind is not bound by any tradition, Kitchen Dog Theater is committed to exploring these questions whether they are found in the classics, contemporary works, or new plays.

Therefore, no tax provision or liability has been reported.GAAP requires the evaluation of tax positions taken in the course of preparing the Theaters tax return and recognition of a tax liability (or asset) if the Theater has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the Internal Revenue Service. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by the Theater, and has concluded that as of June 30, 2016, there are no uncertain tax positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability (or asset) or disclosure in the financial statements.”

| IRS990/Desc | 0 | Kitchen Dog Theater's 2015-16 season, comprised of 5 main stage productions and 11 staged readings, was an artistic and critical success. The rolling world premieres of Steve Yockeys BLACKBERRY WINTER and THE THRUSH & THE WOODPECKER, KDTs first-ever repertory productions, headlined our 18th annual New Works Festival. This groundbreaking project also received a prestigious TACA Donna Wilhelm Family New Works Fund Grant as well as KDTs eighth and Ninth NNPN Continued Life of New Plays Fund awards. The regional premiere of IM GONNA PRAY FOR YOU SO by Halley Feiffer played to capacity crowds and earned both of its stars DFW Critics Forum Awards. Eleven of this seasons fourteen featured playwrights were able to attend KDT performances. The 18th Annual New Works Festival brought to life 13 new works by established, emerging, and student writers. The Festival consisted of three parts: two mainstage productions playing in rep, six staged readings chosen from a record number 1000+ submissions from across the globe, and PUP Fest (Playwrights Under Progress Fest), KDTs innovative youth playwriting program. This years Festival also saw the continuation of KDTs partnership with UT Austins prestigious MFA playwriting program, with a staged reading slot dedicated to one of their students. |
