IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0Biomedical Repair Program: MediSend has opened a state-of-the art biomedical repair laboratory in its Dallas headquarters. The large, well-equipped laboratory, funded by the ExxonMobil Foundation, has the capacity to repair and refurbish all biomedical equipment that MediSend ships to developing countries worldwide, and also serves as a training facility where students from developing countries and US veterans obtain first-hand professional education and experience working with complicated biomedical equipment.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0Product Distribution Program: In a developing country, one MediSend shipment can provide health and healing to an entire community. One 40' container of medical supplies and equipment can sustain hundreds even thousands of lives. From the youngest babies to the most elderly grandparents, these containers give everyone in the community a fighting chance against disease, illness and injury. That's why we call these shipments "Containers of Hope".

IRS990ScheduleA/FactsAndCircumstancesTestTxt0Over the past five years, the Organization received a substantial grant from an unrelated nonprofit foundation. The grant payments were not excluded from the support calculation as unusual contributions, even though they were large enough to endanger the 33 1/3% public support test. The grant provided for large contributions over a set period, and thus were not considered unusual or unexpected. This grant terminated during 2012. In future years, as the prior year grant payments are excluded from the excess contributors' calculation, the support test percentage will increase. The organization anticipates the percentage exceeding the 33 1/3 threshold in 2015. MediSend/International continues to solicit donations from the general public and other public charities. During 2015, the organization received donations greater than $5,000 from 13 organizations or members of the general public, totaling $786,833. The organization has a governing body that represents the broad interests of the public by supporting under resourced healthcare systems in developing countries. The organization provides medical supplies and biomedical equipment, along with training in Biomedical Equipment Repair. MediSend/International should not be considered a private foundation.
