Activity 2

Counseling-The Counseling Ministries Care Center takes calls from a variety of sources: felt-needs, crisis / suicide, and inbound triage calls from other ministries. The Care Center team has surpassed taking over 500,000 calls since Hope for the Heart began and the felt-needs are greater today than ever before. The Care Center publishes the monthly partners in prayer letter/calendar to over 1,800 prayer partners. Since 2002, the HOPE Biblical Counseling Institute has provided God's truth for today's problems to pastors, counselors, chaplains, teachers, and laypeople. In 2012, almost 1,100 attendees received in-depth, interactive teaching based on 100 biblical counseling keys topics. The multimedia format incorporates radio clips of HOPE IN THE NIGHT callers, offering insightful and compassionate answers to life's toughest questions. In June of 2006, Hope for the Heart received accreditation to offer continuing education through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). In 2009, Counseling Ministries began offering on-site, face-to-face counseling in order to build a bridge of hope to those in need. Our professionally trained counselors are committed to proving biblical hope and practical help that leads to changed minds, changed hearts, and changed lives. In 2012 our BCS team conducted over 1,353 hours of face-to-face biblical counseling and provided over 194 referrals to other counseling centers in the local area due to the high demand for counseling. In addition, the team ministered through over 2,087 calls and 3,743 emails to those in need.

Activity 3

Global Outreach- Through the efforts of indigenous translation teams, our biblical counseling keys have been translated into 26 languages. The counseling keys are now being used in 70 nations. In addition, radio broadcasts sponsored by HOPE FOR THE HEART air in 26 countries. The HOPE FOR THE HEART counseling keys have been named "the best-selling Christian resource" in a large east European country. In Latin America 86 radio stations are sharing an audio version of the counseling keys with their listeners. For a southeast Asian radio station, their first two days of biblical counseling broadcast prompted more than 700 telephone calls and walk-in visitors eager to learn more. HOPE FOR THE HEART trains groups and individuals in the use and application of the biblical counseling keys to minister to heart felt needs throughout the world. In the U.S., biblical counseling training is provided for Chinese and Spanish speaking congregations.
