Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Effective September 1995, this organization became certified as a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) for the City of San Angelo, Texas. Their services have been expanded to provide decent affordable housing to low and moderate income persons.

The purpose of the organization is to provide residential and services and promote independent living to indviduals with intellectual disabilities and emergency shelter to victims of domestic violence.

IN 1979 ICD EXPANDED ITS SERVICES AND OPENED A SHELTER FOR VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. THE PRIMARY GOAL IS TO PROVIDE TEMPORARY HOUSING AND SUPPORT SERVICES TO VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, AS WELL AS HOUSING AND DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES TO ADULTS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES.ICD IS COMPRISED OF THREE DIVISIONS: STONE BRIDGE TRAINING RESIDENCE, NEW BRIDGE FAMILY SHELTER, AND ICD ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE.
