To provide those who are deaf and hard of hearing the means to ensure advancement through education, economic security and good health.

The executive committee of the board annually reviews the conflict of interest policy and makes any necessary changes or revisions.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 15A: Compensation Review & Approval Process - CEO, Top Management

The human resource (HR) committee of the board of directors conducts a 360 degree assessment of the executive directors performance annually. The information is compiled and a formal review of the executive director is performed by the chairperson of the board of directors and the chairperson of the HR committee. The HR committee makes a recommendation to the full board regarding the compensation to be paid to the executive director.

The executive director performs a 360 degree assessment of the assistant director and makes a recommendation to the board as to the assistant directors compensation. The organization uses the annual salary survey prepared by the non-profit center for Dallas county.

Form 990, Part III, Line 2: New Services

We received additional funding from the The Dallas Foundation and The Rees Jones Foundation to help us implement a pilot program called YETS, Youth Education Transition Services, to help deaf and hard of hearing youth transition from high school to the workplace.

Form 990, Part III, Line 4D: Other Program Services Description

OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Information and Referral: DAC's Outreach Specialists in Fort Worth and Dallas provide information and referral services to seniors and their family members about various agencies, support groups, medical facilities, and other community resources available to them. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Martha's Vineyard Place: DAC provides access to affordable housing for deaf and hard of hearing individuals through its partnership with Martha' s Vineyard Place. DAC provides supportive services to residents of MVP. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Senior Citizens Center: DAC's Senior Citizen Center provides daily activities to deaf and hard of hearing older adults. These activities include wellness checks, social activities, educational classes and hot nutritious meals. DAC provides free transportation services for seniors participating in DAC's senior citizen program. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: Youth Education and Transition Services (YETs) - A program to support deaf, deaf disabled, and hard of hearing Youth Transition from school into the workplace through hands on approach to ensure their success. YETS comprises of curriculums to teach self-advocacy skills, work readiness, and work base learning to prepare youth through phrase throughout their secondary learning experiences.

OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Martha's Vineyard Place: DAC provides access to affordable housing for deaf and hard of hearing individuals through its partnership with Martha' s Vineyard Place. DAC provides supportive services to residents of MVP. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Senior Citizens Center: DAC's Senior Citizen Center provides daily activities to deaf and hard of hearing older adults. These activities include wellness checks, social activities, educational classes and hot nutritious meals. DAC provides free transportation services for seniors participating in DAC's senior citizen program. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: Youth Education and Transition Services (YETs) - A program to support deaf, deaf disabled, and hard of hearing Youth Transition from school into the workplace through hands on approach to ensure their success. YETS comprises of curriculums to teach self-advocacy skills, work readiness, and work base learning to prepare youth through phrase throughout their secondary learning experiences.
