Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The Beacon State Fund was set up to engage in activities that educate and improve civic participation of Texas citizens by promoting community leadership and volunteerism; by fostering reading and literacy; and by holding one or more conferences annually and periodic seminars or gatherings to discuss, teach, encourage, recognize, or otherwise promote community leadership, volunteerism, reading, and literacy; and to recognize outstanding dedication and contributions to these goals by all Texans, especially by women and particularly women in the public sector.
