“The organization has two classes of membership: institutional members & individual members. Institutional members - all tuberculosis (tb) programs at the state, big city, territorial and local level shall be eligible for one of the two categories of institutional membership; state, big city and territorial tb program membership or local tb membership. Individual members - includes any individual professional, student, honorary, and retired association member not otherwise included as an institutional member.”

“An institutional member may hold office, elect officers, and serve on standing or special committees, as can individual tb controller members. Individual members, who are not tb controllers, shall enjoy all the rights and privileges of instituitional members except the right to vote or hold office.”

“More than one person from a state or territory may be an institutional member of the association. However, the state or territory shall be entitled to only one vote in official decisions, such as amending the constitution, merging or affiliating with other organizations, and dissolving the association. In such situations, the person casting the official state or territory vote shall be the state tb control officer or his/her designate.”

“The organization's accountant provides a draft copy of form 990 to the executive committee for review and approval prior to filing.”

“For those volunteers on NTCA workgroups or commitees with implications for national guidelines or recommendations for use and clinical practice...when there is a potential conflict, or even a concern about a possible conflict, we have instiuted a conflict of interest declaration for the committee/workgroup members. A member is not excluded from the workgroup or committee if a conflict is identified but these documents are made available to the public to inform decisions about the independence of the recommendations of guidelines. For faculty and planning committee members for the national conference (or other educational activity sponsored by NTCA), the signed financial disclosure statement identifies the specific financial relationship the individual has with the company or product. These statements are included in documents provided to the participants so they are aware of what relationships and/or conflicts might influence the content of their presentation. A document is available at the registration table (and is posted on the conference app) which lists all faculty and planning committee members without financial disclosures/conflicts of interests and, for those with any disclosures, a statement is included for everyone. In addition to these public-facing statements,the process outlined above of having multiple reviewers of the content (both prior to the presentation, and immediately following) are also conducted to provide the ACCME accrediting body with the confidence that no financial relationships were discussed in the presentation.”
