Mission

The corporation is organized exclusively for charitable and/or educational purposes. The corporation is regulated by the department of housing and urban development and provides housing and services specifically designed to meet the needs of the elderly and handicapped people, and to promoted their health, security, happiness, and usefulness in longer living.

The corporation is a nonprofit corporation organized under the laws of the state of texas, for the purpose of developing and operating an apartment complex of 24 units in crystal city, texas. The corporation will operate under the provisions of section 811 of the national affordable housing act and be regulated by the u.s. Department of housing and urban development (hud) with respect to rental charges and operating methods.

Effective july 1, 2010 the project entered into a new management agreement with prak property management, inc. To provide management services for the apartments. This fee is to be 6.60% of residential income collected plus a special fee of 14 per unit, per month. Total fees earned by this management company in 2024 was 21,044.

As stated in their by-laws, the corporation is to have no less than five directors, and at all times limited to individuals who are either members of the sponsoring community agency for self help inc. Or non-members who have been approved by the board of directors of casitas cash, inc.

The governing body meets with the property manager and reviews the form 990, and if there are any questions, they will contact the accountant and resolve accordingly.
