“A nami texas, inc. Member is any person who endorses the mission of nami and nami texas and pays dues in the amount and manner established by the board of directors of nami and nami texas. A membership may be one individual or a family of individuals living in one household that is counted as one membership for the purpose of paying dues and voting.”

“Members in good standing nominate and elect the members of the board of directors of nami texas, inc.”

“Members in good standing may vote to amend the bylaws. A two thirds (2/3) majority of the members casting votes at an annual or special meeting shall be required to revise or amend the bylaws.”

However, no amounts have been recorded in the revenues and expenses on the form 990 for donated services. Nami texas estimates that the board members volunteered 180 hours per month during 2014.”

“Board members are provided training on board policies including the conflict of interest policy. Board members are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest for the board to consider pror to voting.”

“The board members receive a copy of the form 990, reviews the audit, and compares the two. The board tries to change auditors every three years and the board takes the action of auditor approval and changes.”
