IRS990/Desc0Property is held in perpetuity for the benefit of people with limited incomes, and to promote the value of living in an inclusive neighborhood. Ithaka's goal is to provide permanent affordable rental units targeting individuals who earn less than 30% of the area median income. In addition to permanent affordable housing, Ithaka operates two hospitality houses with twenty-three beds for no or low income people in transition. These houses take in people who are often not eligible for other housing programs - applicants need not have any income for acceptance. Vacancies are promptly filled from a waiting list for both our permanent housing and our transitional housing. Ithaka retains twenty-one properties with 28 buildings (45 units). In 2014 the Land Trust housed 157 people. Rents range from $200 per month for efficiencies to $450 for our larger homes.
