Mission

Sea turtle inc.s three tier mission is to provide education, conservation, and rehabilitation programs. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured sea turtles, educate the public and assist with conservationefforts for all marine turtle species.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0In 2020, our rehabilitation center provided care to 96 sick or injured turtles and sea turtles that live in our facility permanently. We retrieved 106 DOA turtles and successfully released 35 turtles into the ocean. The rehabilitation program includes providing turtles with medicaltreatment, mediciens, scans, surgeries, and any treatment or rehab needed to treat the injured or sick turtle.

The Education Programs objectives focus on educating and providing information to the public on conservation, marine sea turtles, rehabilitation, and being good ocean stewards. The objectives are accomplished via onsite education, field trips, and virtual programs and field trips. Through our education center onsite visitors learn about our mission and programs. Visitors have access to our turtle resident center and rehabilitation hospital. In 2020, there were 113,620 visitors to our facility and 7,046students learned about our mission via field trips, online and onsite education programs.

THERE WERE SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS BOTH TO THE FACILITY (159) AND VIRTUAL FIELD TRIPS (35) AS WELL AS OUTREACH PROGRAMS TO VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY (33).
