“The audited financial statements and Form 990 are reviewed by the El Paso Community Foundation (EPCF) audit committee. Before filing, a copy of Form 990 is made available for its review to each Director a few days prior to the scheduled Board meeting. At such meeting, the Form 990 is presented by the auditor and internal accountant of EPCF for review and discussion.”

“At the EPCFs annual meeting, each Director and committee member is provided with the policy and a form to complete and disclose all relationships and activities that might cause conflict.”

“The Executive Review Committee of EPCF evaluates the Presidents performance annually. It also reviews the Presidents job description with the President. The committee uses comparable data from other foundations to recommend a compensation package to the Board of Directors.”

“The Executive Review Committee of EPCF also evaluates and reviews the performance of all other officers and key employees in accordance with the Presidents recommendations and utilizing comparable data from other foundations and similar organizations and recommends a compensation package to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors' decision is documented in its meeting minutes.”

“OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: The Teacher Pipeline Fund supports the work of an El Paso Teacher Preparation community of Practice created to ensure an equitable education system that meets the needs of all students in the region. The goal is for 100% of new teachers hired by districts in the El Paso region must be trained in sustainable, high-quality programs, and those teachers must be effective and retained. The initiative includes four strategic areas: recruitment into the profession, high quality teacher preparation programs, a year-long paid residency, and early career teacher mentorship. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Journalism Pilot Program with various strategies to help preserve and protect high-quality, fact-based and trusted journalism and local newsrooms.Expenses: $197,301, including grants of $170,000. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: THE CLASSROOM FUND SUPPORTS INNOVATION, PROGRAM ENHANCEMENT, AND SUPPLIES FOR THECLASSROOM. REQUESTED MATERIALS ARE DELIVERED DIRECTLY TO TEACHERS IN THE EL PASO ANDLAS CRUCES AREA TO PRIVATE OR PUBLIC SCHOOLS. THE PURPOSE OF THE FUND IS TO DIRECTLYSUPPORT THE EFFORTS OF TEACHERS, WHO ON A LIMITED SALARY OFTEN BUY BASIC SUPPLIES AND EXTRAS FOR THEIR CLASSROOMS AT THEIR OWN COST.Expenses: $59,309.”
