Form 990, Part III, Line 2

Our organization took on a new grant funded state program during this current reporting cycle that was not previously reported on the prior year 990. This program, entitled "Fatherhood Effect", is administered by the Texas Depart. of Family and Protective Services - Prevention and Early Intervention Division. (PEI) developed the Educating Fathers for Empowering Children Tomorrow (EFFECT) Program to support fathers and strengthen families through evidence-based fatherhood programs across the state. Our agency uses the EFFECT model to improve children's wellbeing by helping fathers become more involved, responsible, and committed to their children through parent education skills, guidance, and support systems. Additionally, the goal is to help fathers become more involved by increasing family functioning, social support, knowledge of parenting, child development, nurturing skills and attachment. The projected final outcomes are to reduce the risk of child maltreatment and to promote positive family well being.

IRS990/Desc0Head Start, Early Head Start and Child Care Parnership programs serve low-income families with young children. The purpose is to promote school readiness of children ages birth to five from low-income families by supporting their development in a comprehensive way. This is achieved by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social and other services to enrolled children and families. In addition, our agency offers home-based services in which dedicated staff conduct weekly visits to children in their own home and work with the parent as the child's primary teacher.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0National Farmworkers Jobs Programs - MET Inc. has received NFJP grant funding for TX, LA, MN, ND, and WY which was used for Migrant & Seasonal Farmworker Training. Our agencies partnered with 55 key training providers across each of these states in order to reach the goal of aiding in countering the chronic unemployment and underemployment experienced by farmworkers. These farmworkers depend primarily on jobs in agricultural labor. Services we offered include educational instruction (CRT), and skills training (WEX & OJT) in an educational setting. The primary goal of this agency and the Programs was to aid the farm workers with entry-level skills needed for job placements. The outcomes in the 2018/2019 Program year was that we exceeded all program objectives which included enrollment of students in career training services and individuals who received emergency related assistance. The breakdown was training 1,435 Classroom Training Participants in certifications related to Diesel Mechanic, Structural Maintenance Welders, Stick Pipe Welders, Green Construction, Emergency Medical Technicians, Professional Truck Drivers, Medical Billing, and Coding, Pharmacy Technician, Automotive Technology, Welding Technology, and many other customized training tracks.
