Form 990, Part III, Line 4D: Other Program Services Description

OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: GENERATION TXT - Generation tXt is a multi-faceted project designed by a diverse group of teens to help young teens and families practice safe driving, specifically by addressing the hazards of texting and emailing while driving. Teen driver statistics indicate that 21% of fatal car crashes in 16-19 year old drivers were the result of cell phone usage. The program focuses on educating 8th and 9th grade students. These teens are excited about driving; by educating them before they get behind the wheel of a car, they may be less likely to text while driving.

IRS990/Desc0ALERT NEIGHBORS - Alert Neighbors is a free program provided to engage neighborhoods in discussions about crime and public safety. The program instills effective collaboration and communication within neighborhoods to prevent crime and foster a sense of security. In 2015, 957 residents were impacted with Alert Neighbors training and 58 were trained to be leaders in their neighborhoods with Block Captain/Coordinator training. Decreased incidents of crime that have an otherwise negative economic impact on society are reported in neighborhoods which participate in this program. In addition, the sense of community formed by the program frequently serves as a catalyst for neighborhoods to thrive and to be a safer place to live, work and play.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0CRIME STOPPERS - Tulsa Crime Stoppers provides 918-596-COPS (2677) and 918-596-ARSN (2776), telephone tip lines that offer the community an opportunity to safely report felony criminal activity and acts of arson in Tulsa County and surrounding counties without fear of retaliation. The tip lines are staffed by a 24/7 call center. Information is received via the tip lines and then transferred to the appropriate law enforcement agencies for investigation. Citizens may also report felony crime with online technology or a mobile application supported by the organization. In exchange for the information received, Tulsa Crime Stoppers guarantees anonymity and the opportunity to receive a cash reward of up to $1,500 for information received that solves felony cases. By promoting a secure way for witnesses to report crimes, Tulsa Crime Stoppers has created a safe avenue for citizens to assist local law enforcement. The program also fosters a positive relationship between the community, media, and law enforcement. In 2015, $12,470 was approved in cash rewards, 37 arrests were made in felony cases including most notably 8 robberies and 6 homicides.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0GENERATION TXT - Generation tXt is a multi-faceted project designed by a diverse group of teens to help young teens and families practice safe driving, specifically by addressing the hazards of texting and emailing while driving.
