We opened our doors, served over 2,000 meals in a two week period, gathered and disbursed three tons of immediate supplies, handed out hundreds of respirator masks, and became a community hub for information, support, and supplies. Sustantial donations were received in the wake of the fires to provide this relief to our stricken community. La Luz oversaw the distribution of the donations to provide food and basic needs packages, gift cards to supplement these packages, rental assistance, emergency relocation expenses, and finding homes and furniture for the displaced. In addition, La Luz provided guidance to other resources such as holiday giveaways and household donations. La Luz oversaw the distribution of 100% of these donations to assist over 1,000 clients during a four-month period.
