“The corporation's main goal is to effectively and efficiently manage health effects research on naphthalene, and to promote these data for use in hazard/risk assessments. Since inception, the corporation has actively participated in ad hoc coalition of trade associations and federal agencies in planning a multi-year scientific research program to collect additional data about hazards and risks that may be associated with exposure to naphthalene.”

“The corporation addresses environmental issues relating to naphthalene by providing data to appropriate regulatory bodies. Since inception, the corporation has provided data to a number of fedreal agencies and has met with agency staff scientists to discuss the data (epa, dod, doe, nasa, dept. Of agriculture). The corporation co-funded an independent symposium that reviewed the state of naphthalene science. Other co-sponsors included the environmental protection agency. This activity is conducted by the executive director in conjunction with staff of participating coalition trade associations and retained consultants.”

Since inception, the corporation has engaged in preparing use and potential exposure information for submission to and presentation at the independent symposium.
