DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Scholarships are a direct extension of our organizations mission to teach young people ages 5-11 how to enhance their own lives and community through art. We broaden the worlds of young people by building their self esteem, igniting creativity, develop life skills, reinforce academics, as well as an alternative to inactivity. Students who receive scholarships have a lack of access to programming due to limited resources and live at or below the current poverty level. 150 Students attended with a scholarship on Thursdays and Fridays after school and during the summer for six one- week day camps. There were a total of 120 class meeting times$0$0
Affordable Programming in arts based learning focuses on how to make a difference in people's lives by offering classes at a cost 50% lower than other similar programs as well as meeting the economic needs of our community. Affordable Art-Based Programs serve the needs of our community ages 5-Adult by providing a safe place to create, dream, and release energy in a positive way. Affordable Programs took place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday days with 90 class meeting times and dates serving 460 students.$0$0
Apprenticeships for teens is a unique and free opportunity for middle school and high schoolers to learn about art, ceramic arts, pottery, fashion design and textiles while working along-side a professional artist. Many students whom SBAP has been working with for many years are now 12-18, and as a result we have filled a huge need in our community with targeted outreach for teens. Apprenticeships relate careers in the arts, public art, and other topics and projects as they relate to visual art while teaching students to create a portfolio of work for future high school and college submissions. Teen apprentices must apply and demonstrate a lack of access to similar programming due to limited resources and or live at or below the current poverty level. Apprenticeships for teens met 70 times, meeting on Thursday and Friday evenings, and Saturday mornings as well as in the summer for three-one week design intensive workshops serving 46 students.$0$0
