ADDITIONALLY, THE PROGRAM FUNDS IMPROVEMENTS THAT MAKE DOWNTOWN MORE PHYSICALLY APPEALING AND SAFER FOR RESIDENTS AND VISITORS ALIKE. The marketing, development and promotion program serves the entire population of mobile county (425,000) as well as the visitors to the downtown area (2mm annually) by providing the public with information on community events, public activities, business opportunities, and new developments. A visitors' guide is printed annually as a service to both our local citizens and out of town guests.

Recent projects include the funding of major public art installations and the installation of strategically placed bicycle racks.
