“At each annual meeting of the board of directors, a number of directors consituting not less than three (3) or more than fifteen (15), to include the chairman, shall be elected to serve on the executive committee. The board of the directors shall elect the members of the executive committee from among those directors nominated by the president of the corporation, with the advice and consent of the chairman, and presented to the board for its consideration and action. The president of the corporation shall serve as an ex officio, non-voting member of the executive committee. The size of the executive committee shall possess and may exercise all of the powers and functions of the board of directors in the management and direction of the affairs of the corporation in all cases in which specific directions shall not have been given by the board of directors.”

The program is housed in a 140,000 square foot facility that focuses on the development and growth of emerging biotech/life science, information technology, engineering technology, and business service companies. They provide an opportunity for these businesses to develop, grow, and succeed by offering management assistance, identifying financing alternatives, and providing a business incubation center. Innovation depot, a public-private economic development effort, is funded by the Birmingham regional business community, the community foundation of greater Birmingham, UAB, the City of Birmingham, and other leading private foundation.
