The organization is exempt from federal and state income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. PARSON PLACE AND SOUTHSIDE FAMILY SHELTER ARE 6-MONTH SHELTER PROGRAMS THAT SERVE AS STEP 2 FOR WOMEN AS WELL AS WOMEN WITH CHILDREN WHO ARE RESIDING IN EMERGENCY SHELTER. THE ADULTS ARE REQUIRED TO WORK, SAVE PART OF THEIR EARNINGS AND ATTEND REGULAR CASE MANAGEMENT SESSIONS CENTERED AROUND GOALS IDENTIFIED THROUGH COLLABORATION WITH THE PROGRAM SOCIAL WORKER WINGS. STEP 3, IS A LONGER TERM PROGRAM FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN FOR UP TO 24 MONTHS IN WHICH THEY CONTINUE TO RECEIVE CASE MANAGEMENT AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WITH RENT AND UTILITIES UNTIL THEY ARE ABLE TO ASSUME ALL RESPONSIBILITIES OF LIVING EXPENSES.
