Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

As a state chartered credit union, the credit union is exempt, by statute, from most federal, state, and local taxes under the provisions of the internal revenue code. However, since the credit union is state chartered, it is subject to federal tax on unrelated business income. If applicable, this income is reported on the federal form 990t as unrelated business income. The credit union follows the guidance of fasb asc topic 740, income taxes, which prescribes a recognition threshold and measurement attribute for the financial statement recognition and measurement of a tax position taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. In addition, fasb asc topic 740 provides guidance on derecognition, classification, interest and penalties, disclosure and transition. Based on its evaluation, the credit union has concluded that there are no significant uncertain tax positions requiring recognition in its financial statements. The credit union's evaluation was performed for tax years ended december 31, 2021 through december 31, 2024 the years that remain subject to examination by major tax jurisdictions as of december 31, 2024.
