Ascension health is the national health system parent. The process included a review and approval by independent persons, comparability data, and contemporaneous substantiation of the deliberation and decision. The executive compensation committee reviewed and approved the compensation. In the review of the compensation, the organization's ceo, executive director or top management official's salary was compared to individuals at other organizations in the area who hold the same title. During the review and approval of the compensation, documentation of the decision was recorded in the minutes. The individual was not present when their compensation was decided.

DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2017, SAINT THOMAS MIDTOWN HOSPITAL RECOGNIZED $338M FROM SURGERIES, $111M FROM LABOR & DELIVERY, $134M FROM THE JOINT REPLACEMENT INSTITUTE AND $76M FROM EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT SERVICES. ALSO, SAINT THOMAS MIDTOWN HOSPITAL PROVIDES A SUBSTANTIAL PORTION OF ITS SERVICES TO THE ELDERLY AND POOR. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2017, 41.4% OF THE VALUE OF SERVICES RENDERED WAS TO ELDERLY PATIENTS UNDER THE MEDICARE PROGRAM, AND APPROXIMATELY 19.2% OF THE VALUE OF THE SERVICES WAS PROVIDED TO PATIENTS WHO WERE DEEMED INDIGENT UNDER STATE, COUNTY, OR SAINT THOMAS MIDTOWN HOSPITAL GUIDELINES.
