OVER FOUR MILLION PEOPLE HAVE VISITED THE MUSEUM SINCE IT OPENED IN 1995. THE MUSEUM IS DEDICATED TO BEING AS ACCESSIBLE AS POSSIBLE TO FAMILIES THROUGHOUT THE GREATER CHATTANOOGA AREA. 34,300 CHILDREN AND FAMILIES TOOK ADVANTAGE OF FREE ADMISSION PROGRAMS IN 2014. THE MUSEUM PROVIDES FREE ADMISSION ON THE SECOND THURSDAY EVENING OF EACH MONTH AND TWO COMMUNITY FREE DAYS IN DECEMBER. IT DISTRIBUTES FREE TICKETS TO VARIOUS SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES AND PROVIDES DISCOUNTED ADMISSIONS TO STUDENTS WHO QUALIFY FOR FREE OR REDUCED LUNCH. THE MUSEUM LAUNCHED A NEW INITIATIVE IN 2015 WHICH ENABLES ALL EBT CARDHOLDERS TO PAY AN ADMISSION FEE OF $2.00 PER PERSON.
