Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
THE ORGANIZATION DEVELOPED A PROGRAM CALLED "GIFTS OF GRATITUDE" AND WAS ABLE TO REACH 11 FAMILIES OF MILITARY'S FALLEN HEROS TO MEET VARIOUS FINANCIAL NEEDS. NEEDS INCLUDE ASSISTANCE WITH SHELTER AND TRANSPORTATION. DIRECT OUTREACH SUPPORT AMOUNTED TO $23,148.3RD RANGER BATTALION MEMORIALMuch of the effort for the first half of the year was spent developing an in-depth proposalto completely remodel the 3rd Ranger Battalion Memorial at Ft Benning, GA. Thisinvolved: 3rd Ranger Battalion encouraging FHAF consider taking on the project. Ray Barrett contacting all the key contacts in Ranger Regiment to determine if itwas something we should consider. Ray and Joel Rohrs flying out to Ft Benning to meet with 3rd Battalion leadershipto understand the vision and scope of the proposed project Based on the meeting at Ft Benning,o Joe began researching Other Ranger memorials Developing concept (form/function) doc Began working with Ranger Regiment attorneys on language ofoffer. Developing fundraising strategy with other partners.o Joel began developing Visited 2nd Ranger Battalion, Ft Lewis to visit recently constructedmemorial. Communicating with Battalion commander LTC Kloepper onrefining scope and specifications of project. Developed comps of multiple versions of project to present to 3rdRanger Battalion. Created draft plans (including 3D version) that incorporatedBattalions specs and preferences.o Ray continued networking Worked with Ranger Regiment on political aspect of project. Worked with other organization that also wanted to build memorialto include them as part of the team. Visited 2nd Ranger Battalion, Ft Lewis to visit recently constructedmemorial. Solicited/received informational collaboration with organization thatbuilt 2nd Ranger Battalion memorial. Things were moving forward and so by July we were planning (ticketspurchased) to attend Ranger Rendezvous to officially have ground breaking ofproject. Around June, it became apparent that the language of the official FHAF offer tobuild the memorial (that the Ranger attorneys developed) could make it seem asthough LTC Kloepper directly solicited FHAF (showing preference) to build thememorial. Additionally, with Joseph being part of 3rd Ranger Battalion (though notinvolved) a decision was made by the Ranger attorneys and LTC Kloepper topostpone the project until there was no optics of preferential treatment.$32,058-
