Profile
E-tech provides sound defensible, technical, scientific engineering advice and capacity building to communities in developing countries experiencing actual or potential adverse environmental impacts from large-scale extractive and other industrial projects. Many of the communities e-tech serves are indigenous and confronted by formidable multinational mining and energy sector companies. E-tech aims to have positive effects on protecting biodiversity, traditional practices, and ecological health. Historically, a connection between protecting biodiversity, conserving terrestrial landscapes as carbon sinks and the rights of the indigenous communities to a sustainable and healthy environment has not been adequately considered. E-tech believes that indigenous communities are best suited to protect local biodiversity. The residents of these remote areas with proper training, tools, and resources coupled with their traditional local knowledge can become effective stewards. Moreover, the model

“E-tech continued the development and implementation of oil remediation strategies under an indigenous-national government agreement in the loreto, peru amazon basin including monitoring, training and field oversight of actual crude oil cleanup on behalf of indigenous federations. At the request of indigenous federations, e-tech coordinated with the peruvian government a new multi-decade long program to train community members to be employed in remediation and rehabilitation of their territory. E-tech continued the promotion of best large-scale mining practices at several mines in ecuador and continued focusing on the chinese mirador copper mine and further technical analysis of mine-tailing stability at that mine including ongoing representation of indigenous communities in ecuador in the state of zamora, chinchipe. E-tech worked with researchers and communties to develop further social and technical evaluation of watershed protection for communities on the rio sonora, mexico, downstream of the grupo mexico cananea mine and with the mexican government to apply best practices and audits to the mine. E-tech began working with a german- based technical policy group, lingo, in evaluating environmental impacts of cross-border exploitation of oil, natural gas, and development of a complex of lng storage and shipping facilities in the sea of cortez. We also worked with various stakeholders on the arizona-sonora border to evaluate long term practical collaborations for environmental projects.”

| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 0 | E-TECH PROVIDES SOUND DEFENSIBLE, TECHNICAL, SCIENTIFIC ENGINEERING ADVICE AND CAPACITY BUILDING TO COMMUNITIES IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES EXPERIENCING ACTUAL OR POTENTIAL ADVERSE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS FROM LARGE-SCALE EXTRACTIVE AND OTHER INDUSTRIAL PROJECTS. MOREOVER, THE MODEL E-TECH ENVISIONS CAN BE APPLIED ON LANDS REQUIRING REMEDIATION AND RESTORATION AS WELL AS IN REGIONS WHERE EXTRACTIVE PROJECTS ARE PROPOSED. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 1 | E-TECH CONTINUED THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF OIL REMEDIATION STRATEGIES UNDER AN INDIGENOUS-NATIONAL GOVERNMENT AGREEMENT IN THE LORETO, PERU AMAZON BASIN INCLUDING MONITORING, TRAINING AND FIELD OVERSIGHT OF ACTUAL CRUDE OIL CLEANUP ON BEHALF OF INDIGENOUS FEDERATIONS. WE ALSO WORKED WITH VARIOUS STAKEHOLDERS ON THE ARIZONA-SONORA BORDER TO EVALUATE LONG TERM PRACTICAL COLLABORATIONS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECTS. |
