E-tech provides sound defensible, technical, scientific engineering advice and capacity building to communities in developing countries experiencing actual or potential adverse environmental impacts from large-scale extractive and other industrial projects. Many of the communities e-tech serves are indigenous and confronted by formidable multinational mining and energy sector companies. E-tech aims to have positive effects on protecting biodiversity, traditional practices, and ecological health. Historically, a connection between protecting biodiversity, conserving terrestrial landscapes as carbon sinks and the rights of the indigenous communities to a sustainable and healthy environment has not been adequately considered. E-tech believes that indigenous communities are best suited to protect local biodiversity.
