Mission and Program Overview

Mission

CAP is a non-profit that operates a food pantry, serving the Severn, Odenton, Hanover, and Gambrills communities. In 2025, CAP supported 2,225 household units (including repeats) and 7,181 individuals (including repeats). CAP serves the neediest and most vulnerable populations in its area. It also assists clients from three senior subsidized-housing complexes in Odenton, as well as transient/homeless individuals. Clients are served primarily non-perishable staples such as canned fruits and vegetables, soup, pasta, et. al. These are supplemented with frozen meats, fresh bread, and desserts. Each client is provided a voucher that allows them to purchase fresh meat and dairy items at a local supermarket. The food pantry and the food vouchers provide healthy food options to clients. Approximately 52% of the persons served by CAP are under 18 or 65 and older. CAP clients include all races/ethnicities.
