“In March 2017, the FASB issued ASU 2017-07 Compensation -Retirement Benefits (Topic 715): Improving the Presentation of Net Periodic Pension Cost and Net Periodic Postretirement Benefit Cost (ASU 2017-07), which changes how employers that sponsor defined benefit pension present the net periodic benefit cost in the statement of operations. ASU 2017-07 requires employers to present the service cost component of net periodic benefit cost in the same statement of operations line items as other employee compensation costs arising from services rendered during the period. Employers are to present the other components of net periodic benefit cost separately from the line item that includes the service cost and outside of any subtotal of operating income, if one is presented. Employers will have to disclose the lines used to present the other components of net periodic benefit cost, if the components are not presented separately in the statement of operations. The corporation elected to adopt the provisions of ASU 2017-07 as of January 1, 2017. The non-contribution defined benefit pension plan was frozen effective January 1, 2010. As a result no service cost was incurred during the year ended December 31, 2024. The other components of net periodic pension cost was $2.4 million for year ended December 31, 2024.”
