Financial Statement Notes

PART V, LINE 4:

“The organization's endowments consist of board-designated funds and individual donor-restricted funds established by the donors to function as endowments for the long-term support of the organization.”

PART X, LINE 2:

“The heuser hearing & language academy (organization) is exempt from federal, state and local income taxes as a not-for-profit corporation as described under internal revenue code section 501(c)(3). The organization files informational tax returns in the u.s. Federal jurisdiction and with the kentucky office of attorney general. However, income from certain activities not directly related to the organization's tax exempt purpose may be subject to taxation as unrealted business income. Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america require management to evaluate tax positions taken by the organization and recognize a tax liability if the organization has taken an uncertain tax position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by various federal and state taxing authorities. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by the organization, and has concluded that as of may 31, 2024 and 2023, there are no uncertain positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability or disclosure in the accompanying consolidated financial statements.”
