Activity 2

Out of home care: as part of the case management activities, hki manages the placement arrangements for children within hillsborough county that were removed from their homes due to unsafe conditions. This is accomplished by hki obtaining foster care or residential group care facilities for the children to reside in while the case management services are being performed. Often times, the children in our care need clinical, behavioral or trauma services during the time they are in care with hki. If intensive services are needed, it is identified early through a comprehensive assessment process of the child. Physical and dental needs are also provided to our children through an array of medicaid providers.

Activity 3

Adoption services: hki manages the adoption subsidy payment system for all child welfare special needs adopted children in hillsborough county. Through community awareness activities such as the tampa heart gallery, adoption match events, recruitment grants, and a grass roots effort by the foster parent association, hki has finalized adoptions for over 2,000 children since its inception. Through the efforts of our community based providers, hki provides adoption training, adoption home studies, adoption recruitment, adoption case management and supervision of adopted cases, assistance with the adoption finalization process and adoption post-placement services.
