“Statement of purpose: net training institute was founded in 1996 to fill a critical gap in the global clinical addiction treatment workforce and foster a complementary non-clinical workforce. It has expanded both the availability and quality of ongoing, long-term care and developed, trained, and certified a targeted group of non-clinical career recovery professionals. Its mission was expanded in 2013 with the international association of professional recovery coaches (iaprc) and, in 2021, the international center for addiction and recovery education (icare). Under the icare banner, online training is offered by three entities: -net institute, offering training and professional development in clinical counseling and recovery services to encourage health and wellbeing; -iaprc, providing training in professional recovery coaching, life coaching, and addiction awareness facilitation; -icare workforce solutions, a new program marketed in 2021, trains companies to avert risk by enhancing employee resilience, performance, and substance misuse and addiction awareness. Strategic sobriety will be reserved for future programs. The icare center of excellence comprises an accomplished leadership team, a shared platform, diverse approaches and modalities, relevant credentials, and best practices in workforce development through addiction and recovery education. Training and certification programs are developed in conformity with professional standards defined by state, national, and international certification boards and are recertified each year.”
