“The executive women's golf association, inc. (ewga) is a not for profit individual membership organization whose purpose is to provide opportunities for women to learn, play and enjoy the game of golf through chapter activities, educational programs, golf and networking events and public awareness programs. Ewga has a solid foundation and core infrastructure with a scalable chapter system in markets across the united states, canada, italy, bermuda and south africa. At the end of 2014, ewga had 12,287 members and a total of 114 chapters, 107 us chapters and 7 international chapters (4 in canada, 1 in italy, 1 in south africa and 1 in bermuda.) the mission of the ewga is to connect women to learn, play, and enjoy the game of golf for business and for fun. Ewga believes in and conducts itself according to the values embodied by the game of golf: honesty, integrity, respect, honor, sportsmanship, fun and friendship. The ewga is dedicated to: inclusivity and diversity, golf as an important asset for women in business, volunteer service, mentoring and support for new golfers, advancement of skills for all golfers, making a difference in women's golf and professionalism in our operations and relationships. The ewga provides a variety of programming for its members designed to: - introduce women to the game of golf through a variety of educational programs - help them to learn and improve their game - build confidence in their playing ability - offer networking opportunities with other professional women who play golf - utilize the sport as a customer relationship builder and business enhancement tool - develop and enhance leadership skills within the volunteer chapter leadership structure the organizations key goals are: - to provide premier programs for ewga members in golf education, player skill development, organized play, and in learning how to use golf in business. - to provide timely and valued benefits and services to ewga members and volunteer leaders. - to promote the growth of women's golf. - to be an advocate for positive change on issues of importance to women golfers.”

“Golf events and education - on an ongoing basis, ewga develops and provides education and event programs for members. Curriculum offerings include learning how to play golf, improvement of specific golf skills, using golf for business, mentoring opportunities designed to assist new golfers to get engaged and feeling comfortable with the game of golf; understanding the rules and etiquette of golf, and tournament administration of the game. In 2014, ewga continued to work with chapters to participate in get golf readythe industry-wide new golfer program developed by industry leaders of golf 20/20 and overseen by the pga of america to introduce adult men and women to the game of golf. In addition, ewga provides event oversight, consultation, implementation training and guidance to chapters on conducting golf events and the offering of golf educational programs throughout the calendar year to members. Develops and oversees the administration of the ewga golf course network relationship to provide golf education and playing opportunities for members coast-to-coast. Oversees the handicap service member benefit (provisioning of an approved usga handicap) which includes offering score posting and handicap computation, access to golf educational tips, historical data collection of ones' individual golf scores to measure improvement, peer oversight and review, training of the individual volunteer chapter golf handicap liaison and chapter administrators of the chapter championships in using and verifying member golf handicaps. Conducts and administers an association-wide amateur championship golf tournament with over 2400 participants annually for all skill levels of golfers beginning with establishing competitive rules and regulations at each individual chapter venue and then ramping up to the semi-final administration and implementation and then ultimately the finals. This program involves developing comprehensive rules and guidelines, provision of prizes, awards, registration, and direction of the ewga championship that includes over 100 qualifying events at chapter championships, 15 semi-final qualifying rounds and tournament administration at the semi-final and finals levels of competition. Plans, organizes and oversees the site selection, hotel and golf contracts, budgets, travel partners, agenda details, and all aspects of the operation of the ewga conference, ewga on course events and the 15 semi-final championship venue logistics and the finals venue of the championship. Selects and negotiates purchase of awards and prizes for all ewga events. Negotiates with the usga to provide complimentary or discounted materials on rules, handicaps and etiquette situations to members and chapters. 2014 marked the fourth year of the ewga cup championship, a competitive team format referred to as match play across the association with 8 regional qualifiers culminating in a 2 day match play finals competition.”

“Chapter and member services - this involves managing and maintaining the membership database; billing and processing of membership dues; the development and deployment of membership marketing and promotional campaigns. Fielding member inquiries. Refinement of the tiered individual membership offerings to include a student membership offering, senior memberships as well as implementing a corporate membership offering. Developing and implementing member communications and member information as it relates to what they receive as a member of the organization including the member guide. Oversees a program of providing merchandise to members and chapters with the ewga logo along with chapter-related supplies that use the ewga logo. Develop and maintaining an association website. Conduct member surveys to assess the interests of ewga members to represent their needs as members, in the golf industry and in the business community. Field media inquiries about the programs of the association. Develops and conducts an association-wide member recruitment campaign to promote membership growth along with online campaigns and incentives to recruit new members. Manages the billing of dues for renewing members and the receipt and processing of all monies for renewing members. Manages the development and distribution of member applications for new members and the receipt and processing of all monies for new members. Provides weekly reporting to chapters on new and renewing members and provides chapter rosters and other reports upon request. Maintains a list of chapters along with their membership application and contact information on the ewga website so prospective members can see if there is a chapter in their area. Interfaces with chapter volunteer leadership on member prospecting, recruitment offerings and packages and reports to chapters on prospective members. Provides uniform designs for membership recruitment display booths, banners etc. For chapters to use at events that promote membership. Designs, produces and sells at nominal fees supplies for chapter use such as invitations, stationary, business cards, note cards, etc. Pursues alliances and partnerships to promote membership and provide benefits and activities for members. Maintains lists and descriptions of member benefits on the ewga website. Designs, produces and mails membership id cards and member fulfillment kits to all new and renewing members. Conducts data collection projects to maintain demographic profiles of members and to determine member satisfaction. Provides toll-free phone lines for use by prospective members, members and volunteer leaders.”

“Leadership development - plan, conduct and oversee leadership development training programs and materials for chapter leaders. Develop, implement and oversee programs for leadership and volunteer recruitment and recognition. Assist chapters in managing chapter operations, recruiting and retaining members and fiscal responsibility. Develop new chapters and assist with their start-up process. Provide consultation to chapter leaders on chapter governance issues, membership status and promotion, member services, events, education, communications, public relations and more. Establish and monitor chapter operation standards of performance. Monitors chapter compliance with good governance practices and minimum chapter standards. This also includes the preparation and on-line access to a chapter manual with guidelines for chapter operations. Maintains and updates the on-line volunteer leadership resource center with best practices. Create, author and distribute regular email leadership updates to all volunteer leaders. Additionally, develops and conducts leadership development training (leadership orientation week, how to run a great kickoff, managing challenging individuals are just a few examples of training resources) thru face to face and the use of on-line webex services and collects data on volunteer leadership satisfaction. Develops and maintains chapter development specialist materials to assist these volunteer leaders in their role of helping support chapter volunteer leaders. Engages nationally recognized not-for-profit volunteer management consultants to assist with leadership development and training at the conference as well as access for leaders to on-line educational programs. Develops and maintains guidelines for starting new ewga chapters and employs staff dedicated to the effort. Develops agenda and provides materials for running chapter leadership meetings. Develops trademark name and logo usage guidelines for chapters and vendors to protect trademark registration and the brand of the association.”
