Activity 2

The open door day resource center program provides basic needs for homeless and low income clients. A broad range of services includes access to restrooms, telephone, fax, computers, mail service, hot showers and other personal hygiene services. Critical services that are provided include helping clients with obtaining birth certificates, id cards and other legal documents which are required for employment and application to other benefit programs. During 2011/2012 the open door program helped 1,868 new clients in addition to more than 5,950 existing clients registered in our database.

Activity 3

The one stop clinic provides free medical and dental services to clients that meet program eligibility requirements of residency and income. Services are provided by volunteer professionals, except for the clinic coordinator and part-time dental hygienist who are paid staff members. For the fiscal year ended 6-30-12 the medical and dental clinics had 4,948 patient visits that were attended to by 36 health care providers who volunteered 4,513 hours in the clinic. The dollar value of their time was 1,756,008. In february of 2012 the coalition won a grant award from the blue foundation to compensate dentists for their service to clients. This enabled the coalition to double the amount of time dental services are offered in the one stop clinic.
