1,400 police, fire and national homeland security officers trained in law enforcement & society: lessons of the holocaust program during 2014-2016: the goal of the program is to investigate the role german police played during the holocaust and contrast it with the law enforcement in a democracy in the u.s. Today. Officers learn how within a short span of time, german police turned from neutral professionals into some of the worst perpetrators during the holocaust. German police took part in rounding up and mass shooting of over 2 million innocent human beings: jewish men, women, and children. Against the backdrop of this disturbing history, we discuss the role of police in the u.s. The emphasis of the program is twofold: the alignment of personal, professional, and national values in everyday work of police officers, and seeing society members as individual human beings. Participants of the program have shared in their evaluations that the program was a true eye opener and a reminder how crucial the decisions of law enforcement professionals are in maintaining and protecting a democratic society. Training for the st. Petersburg police department, pasco fire department, homeland security officers and new recruits in the tampa police department took place during 2015-2016. Leadership from the tallahassee police department came to observe classes before scheduling the program in their area. 200 hours of survivor testimony captured and digitized since the holocaust was a series of atrocities inflicted by people on people and a matter of great moral and ethical significance, it is crucial that the human experience of the victims be told in the first person so that it may be at least partly understood. The museum's commitment to filming and digitization will keep the stories of holocaust survivors, liberators and rescuers alive for future generations. 1 of 3 accredited holocaust museums in the united states the fhm's ongoing commitment to professionalism, standards and best practices allows it to host numerous national and international exhibitions, attracting tens of thousands visitors every year and reinforcing the important role the museum and florida have as international tourist destinations. In 2015, the fhm created an interactive education guide that ties a museum field trip to florida standards and prepares student groups for tours and post-visit learning, now offered free of charge on the museum's website. In 2016, the fhm hosted the u.s. Premiere of "matzevot for everyday use: photographs by lukasz baksik," which documents how jewish gravestones in poland have been stolen and reappropriated as parts of fences, pavements, and even grindstones since the 1940s, and created a study guide for educators about the content of the exhibition. In 329 schools, exposing 18,131 children to the concepts of upstander behavior, the rights and responsibilities of living in a democracy, and speaking out against injustice. In addition, the fhm worked with 1,975 teachers this year, touching the lives of many more students through the education of their teachers and assisting with the implementation of statutorily required instruction about the holocaust (chapter 1003.42).

Central to the mission of the museum is the program to collect, preserve, and make available to the public the historical record and artistic and literary interpretation of the holocaust and other genocides. Types of media collected include: artwork created during the holocaust and after as a reaction, historical documents, photographs, audio and video testimony interviews, objects from victims, nazi and liberator militaria, textiles, judaica, diaries, manuscripts and other historical records of the holocaust and its era. The museum collects and maintains the material that supports its wide ranging efforts in the area of research, exhibition, publication, education, and commemoration.

Schedule D, Page 2, Part V, Line 4

The organizations endowment funds (endowments) are funds restricted or designated for operating costs incurred while engaged in programs directly related to cultural and presentation materials honoring the memory of those who suffered or died in the holocaust and to fund scholarships for students. The endowments consist of money market funds, corporate bonds, and asset backed securities. Income earned from the endowments is available for general or specific purposes. As required by accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america, net assets associated with endowment funds are classified and reported based on the existence or absence of donor-imposed restrictions.

IRS990/Desc0IN SERVICE TO ITS MISSION, DURING FY 2015-16: 150,000 PEOPLE REACHED ANNUALLY INSIDE THE MUSEUM AND THROUGH ITS EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAMS THROUGH ITS WORLD-CLASS EXHIBITIONS AND PROGRAMS, THE FHM SPREADS AWARENESS ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST, GENOCIDE AND HUMAN RIGHTS IN BOTH HISTORIC AND CROSS-CULTURAL CONTEXTS. USING PERSONAL STORIES, ACADEMIC LECTURES, HISTORY, ART AND PHOTO EXHIBITIONS AS WELL AS EXPLORATIONS OF CURRENT EVENTS, THE MUSEUM'S PRISMATIC APPROACH AIMS TO CREATE A BETTER FUTURE FOR ALL. (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O) 1,400 POLICE, FIRE AND NATIONAL HOMELAND SECURITY OFFICERS TRAINED IN LAW ENFORCEMENT & SOCIETY: LESSONS OF THE HOLOCAUST PROGRAM DURING 2014-2016: THE GOAL OF THE PROGRAM IS TO INVESTIGATE THE ROLE GERMAN POLICE PLAYED DURING THE HOLOCAUST AND CONTRAST IT WITH THE LAW ENFORCEMENT IN A DEMOCRACY IN THE U.S.
