“The goal of arise foundation is to introduce easily understood, vital life skills lessons (the kind of advice parents and grandparents used to share) to at-risk youth in dynamic, information-rich group sessions conducted by well trained and inspired arise group facilitators, enabling youth to make successful life choices.”

“During the fiscal year ending october 31, 2020, arise focused on providing life skills curriculum and staff training to organizations that work with at-risk troubled youth. Arise offered online training to staff working with these at-risk youth and they were able to provide the arise life-skills lessons to youth in their charge. All onsite training was canceled during this year. Our curriculum was easily adapted and was used for groups that were working on platforms such as zoom. According to america's promise: the alliance for youth, nearly 67% of african american children and almost 25% of white children live in households with only one parent. Two million american children have a parent in jail, and approximately 8 million children regularly spend time without adult supervision. A total of 30 million young americans live in families with incomes below the poverty level. Life is often too hard for many youth. When daily survival is the priority, many of the tool's youth need to make healthy choices are not available. This is where the arise foundation makes a difference. A 1998 study by vanderbilt university estimated that each high-risk juvenile prevented from adopting a life of crime could save the country 3 million dollars. Arise foundation's mission is to introduce valuable life skills to at-risk troubled youth, enabling them to achieve their highest potential through training and education. This mission is accomplished in two ways: the development of specialized life-skills lessons and careful training of arise-certified life-skills instructors. Since arise was established in 1986, its founders have written a complete library of life-skills lessons targeted specifically at troubled youth. Topics include anger management, conflict resolution, and finding and keeping a job, among others. Arise material is evidence based, easily understood, and interactive. It boosts academic skills as well as social skills. Because this population required gentle encouragement to express their honest feelings in arise groups, staff training was a must. Arise created a unique delivery system for teaching life skills by training staff in an intensive fourteen-hour program on precisely how to conduct memorable, interactive, arise group life-skills lessons. Arise lessons are currently used in juvenile correctional facilities, detention centers, probation, secure juvenile facilities, alternative schools, mental health facilities and community-based organizations. Arise has onsite and online life skills training. Arise foundation's goal is to expand the number of people using these effective tools worldwide.
