Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Goodwill's mission is "Building Lives That Work" by providing opportunities for people to improve their lives through employment and pre-employment programs, pursuing commercial opportunities to employ the persons we serve and by processing, recycling, and reselling donated items.

Goodwill industries of central florida, inc. Is a 501c3 that resells donated goods to fulfill its mission of building lives that work. Gicf provides community members and 1400 employees with programs that increase economic mobility and career advancement. Programs offered in brevard, lake, orange, osceola, volusia, and seminole counties provide financial coaching, career and education planning, on the job training, skills building, job placement, resource connectivity, and post-employment support.

The organization's conflict of interest policy is distributed to each member of the organization's governing body, its officers, and its key employees on an annual basis. Each such individual provides an annual disclosure statement indicating that they have received, read, understood and agreed to comply with the policy, and certifying that: (1) they have no relationships or interests that present a conflict of interest, (2) they have one or more conflicts of interest that have been fully disclosed as required by policy and have been properly administered in conformity with the policy, or (3) they have previously undisclosed conflicts of interest and disclosed the details of such conflicts. In the event that a potential conflict arises during the year, the board member shall recuse himself/herself from all discussions and vote.

AMONG THE 254 PROSPERITY PLATFORM MEMBERS SERVED IN 2024, 72% SAW INCREASED ECONOMIC MOBILITY. 100% OF THE 1,817 PEOPLE SERVED BY GOODWILL CONNECTS WERE ABLE TO GAIN VALUABLE CONNECTIONS TO SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO AVERT OR OVERCOME LIFE CRISES. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH VITA WE WERE ABLE TO ASSIST 309 PEOPLE WITH FREE INCOME TAX PREPARATION SERVICES. OUR EMPLOYMENT SPECIALISTS GUIDED 1,129 COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN RESUME CREATION, MOCK INTERVIEWING, AND JOB PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE. TOGETHER, THESE PROGRAMS CREATE A SUPPORTIVE WEB THAT EMPOWERS PEOPLE TO ACHIEVE THEIR LIFE GOALS WITH GUIDED ASSISTANCE AND ONE TO ONE COACHING.
