“The Managing Director is involved in the daily management of the Foundation. She receives the Form 990 from the CPA firm that prepares it. She then reviews it based on her knowledge of the transactions and activities of the Foundation prior to signing and filing the return with the IRS. The Managing Director consults with the CPA firm during the preparation and review process to ensure that the Foundation has a complete and accurate return.”
“The determination of all salaries is made by the Budget & Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees, on recommendation of the Personnel Committee, which is comprised of the officers of the corporation. Members of these committees have no conflicts of interest regarding personnel. The starting point for the Personnel Committee in determination of salaries is the personnel budget within the overall annual budget, which was reduced last year. Job responsibilities were realigned and expanded in several support staff positions. Compensation was determined with reference to job responsibilities, salaries for comparable positions in other similar organizations, and the local economic market. The Personnel Committee and the Budget & Finance Committee maintain records of their compensation decisions.”
