Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Founded in 1996, the clean air campaign works with schools and companies to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, educate about voluntary actions to improve our environment and help corporations meet their sustainability goals. As a 501c3 nonprofit, we offer a comprehensive approach that provides benefits to companies, their employees, their families, communities and the environment. The clean air campaign works to maintain quality of life by tackling the issues of traffic congestion and air pollution. Poor air quality poses a threat to public health, particularly to children, the elderly and those with asthma, respiratory or cardiovascular conditions. Motor vehicles are a significant source of nitrogen oxide emissions.

Additional Explanations

Form 990, Part XII, Line 2C

The process of overseeing the review and selection of an independent accountant has not changed from the prior year.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The campaign applies the provisions of accounting standards for income taxes. These standards require that a tax position be recognized or derecognized based on a "more-likely-than-not" threshold. This applies to positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. The campaign does not believe its financial statements include any material uncertain tax positions. The campaign is no longer subject to federal or state income tax examinations by tax authorities for years before 2012.

IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0THE CAMPAIGN APPLIES THE PROVISIONS OF ACCOUNTING STANDARDS FOR INCOME TAXES.
