“Upon receipt of the completed conflict of interest questionnaires discussed on part vi, section b, line 12c, the drew finance department will review all questionnaires and complete the irs form 990 and send to all finance committee members to review. The finance committee will review and approve the irs form 990 and will send a final draft version to all board members after approval. Board members will then review the irs form 990 and send any comments to the assistant treasurer to be reviewed and incorporated as appropriate in the irs form 990. Board members will then receive a final irs form 990 prior to submission to the irs.”

“Annual conflict of interest questionnaires are sent by the drew charter school finance department to all board members and key employees to determine if any relationships or transactions exist which would give rise to a conflict of interest. Board members and key employees complete the electronic questionnaires and return them to the drew finance department for review. Any potential conflicts of interest are reviewed and resolved in accordance with the organization's conflict of interest policy.”

“For the school's principal, the board of directors reviewed comparable salaries in the atlanta market for the salary of the position based on experience level and other factors. Annually, the board will ensure that the salary levels of the principal and all employees are comparable to salaries in the atlanta market.”

“Please note: revenue and expenses from the activity listed on line 4b of part iii has previously been included in the activity listed on line 4a. While the organization has always provided extracurricular activities to its students as an integral part of its exempt purpose of providing a complete educational program, it now separately tracks revenue and expense from those activities and reports them as separate line items in its audited financial statements. As such, to remain consistent with audit practices, the organization has broken out the revenue and expense generated from extracurricular activities during fiscal year 2019 for purposes of part iii of form 990.”
