PART III, LINE 4:

The university owns approximately 5,213 works of art as follows: photographs: 300 paintings: 1,217 works on paper: 3,000 sculpture: 584 textile (does not include the textile collections): 112 the collection furthers the university's exempt purpose as an educational institution by providing an invaluable educational resource. The collection highlights the notable art trends and focuses on contemporary art and art created by women. The collection helps students broaden their world view by exposing them to a variety of modes of self expression.

PART V, LINE 4:

The university's endowment consists of 137 donor-restricted funds established for scholarships, building maintenance, and other programs.

PART X, LINE 2:

Under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code, brenau university is exempt from taxes on income other than unrelated business income. Collectively, the university does not have any unrelated business income. The university utilizes the accounting requirements assosiated with uncertainty in income taxes using the provisions of financial accounting standards board (fasb) asc 740, income taxes. Using that guidance, tax positions initially need to be recognized in the financial statements when it is more-likely-than-not the positions will be sustained upon examination by the tax auhorities. It also provides guidance for derecognition, classification, interest and penalties, accounting in interim periods, disclosure and transition. As of june 30 2023 and 2022, the university has no uncertain tax provisions that quialify for recognition or disclosure in the financial statements.
