The pickens county ymca is a charitable, community service organization that serves men, women, and children of all ages, abilities, incomes, races and religions. We are dedicated to building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. Through membership, programs, and services, our ymca nurtures the potential of children and teens, promotes healthy living for all, and fosters social responsibility. We want to ensure that the ymca is available to all, regardless of their ability to pay. In 2021, we provided scholarships to individuals and families in the community totaling 245,808. This assistance was for all types of ymca programming and membership with the bulk of the funds used for afterschool and summer camp scholarships. In total, we were able to assist 1,376 individual residents of our community with scholarships. In addition to providing scholarships for fee-based programs and services, the ymca also offers programs for high-risk youth and individuals with chronic heal

The pickens county ymca is a charitable, community service organization that serves men, women, and children of all ages, abilities, incomes, races and religions. We are dedicated to building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. Through membership, programs and services, our ymca nurtures the potential of children and teens, promotes healthy living for all, and fosters social responsibility. We want to ensure that the ymca is available to all, regardless of their ability to pay. In 2024, we provided 268,416 in financial assistance, ensuring children, families, and individuals had a safe and healthy place to grow, thrive and belong. Financial assistance is provided for all types of memberships and ymca programs, including afterschool, summer camp, swim lessons, youth sports and wellness programs. We are dedicated to building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. Through membership, programs and services, our ymca nurtures the potential of children and teens, promotes healthy living for all, and fosters social responsibility. We want to ensure that the ymca is available to all, regardless of their ability to pay. In 2024, we provided 268,416 in financial assistance, ensuring children, families, and individuals had a safe and healthy place to grow, thrive and belong. Financial assistance is provided for all types of memberships and ymca programs, including afterschool, summer camp, swim lessons, youth sports and wellness programs. In total, we were able to assist 2,000 individual residents of our community with scholarships. In addition to providing scholarships for fee-based programs and services, the ymca also offers programs for high-risk youth and individuals with chronic health conditions at no cost. The youth programs offered at no cost include a free water safety day for community youth, a free swim lesson program for all 2nd-grade students at 10 local elementary schools, a ymca mentor program that spans two counties and serves at-risk youth at 39 elementary, middle and high schools, and 4 camp irock summer learning loss camp programs that help struggling readers. Livestrong at the ymca is a no-cost small-group wellness program for cancer survivors that focuses on regaining health and building community. Pedaling for parkinson's and blood pressure self-monitoring are additional no-cost, evidence-based health programs serving individuals battling chronic disease. Volunteers play a vital role in our ability to offer these programs and services as well as our capacity to make a positive impact in our community. Our ymca was founded and is actively led by a governing board of volunteers representing all of the communities we serve. Volunteers also serve as advisory board members, mentors, coaches, program leaders, ambassadors, instructors and more. The overall goals of all ymca programs and services are to foster youth development, help individuals and families achieve a healthy lifestyle, and positively impact the community. Programs that are provided to the community include but are not limited to: soccer, volleyball, baseball, basketball, swim lessons, swim team, water fitness, pool parties, lifeguard training, church baptisms, afterschool care, summer day camp, summer specialty camps, teen leaders-in-training, mentor program, personal training, small group personal training, group wellness classes, fit for life senior adult classes, group cycling classes, yoga, pilates, pound, zumba, beast mode, journey wellness program, custom wellness assessments, pedaling 4 parkinsons, livestrong at the ymca, blood pressure self monitoring, youth wellness programs, hiking club and family events. We also strive to form community partnerships to enhance and improve our impact on those we serve. Over the past year, we have partnered with many local businesses and churches including anderson school district one, pickens county school district, pickens county united way, united way of anderson county, city of easley, 5 point church, easley and pickens chambers of commerce, pickens county dss, pickens county american red cross, pickens county foster and adoptive parent association, miracle hill childrens home, kimberly hampton memorial library, military outreach initiative, southern wesleyan university, clemson university, and easley rotary club. Businesses, other nonprofits and churches support our ymca through sponsorships, donations and partnerships. Overall, the pickens county ymca directly served over 26,000 residents during 2024. Wellness: one of our primary purposes is to provide the community with healthy living awarness. We accomplish this through memberships, various programs, personal training and educational resources. Child care: the pickens county ymca is the largest child carre provider in the area. With approximately 1,036 children in our y's afterschool program, and the 923 children in the summer camp we make we make a huge impact on a large number of children. Motto- our summer camp program provides a positive and safe enviroment for the children in our community where they can enjoy a summer full of acheivement, relationships, and belongings. Each child participates in new experiences through camper choice, weekley themed activities, field trips, devotions, and character development. Aquatics and sports: many children and familys are looking for recreational activities outside of the school day. The ymca provides opportunities such as soccer, baseball, volleyball, swim team, group and private swim lessons. All programs have an emphasis on the values of the ymca. We are committed to improve the mind, body and spirit of each person we serve.

The organization recognizes the tax benefits from uncertain tax positions only if it is more-likely-than-not that the tax position will be sustained on examination by the taxing authorities, based on the technical merits of the position. The organization's income tax filings are subject to audit by various taxing authorities. Management believes the adoption of asc 740-10 resulted in no significant impact to the organization's financial statements.

IRS990/Desc0WELLNESS: ONE OF OUR PRIMARY PURPOSES IS TO PROVIDE THE COMMUNITY WITH HEALTHY LIVING AWARNESS. WE ACCOMPLISH THIS THROUGH MEMBERSHIPS, VARIOUS PROGRAMS, PERSONAL TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES. CHILD CARE: THE PICKENS COUNTY YMCA IS THE LARGEST CHILD CARRE PROVIDER IN THE AREA. WITH APPROXIMATELY 1,036 CHILDREN IN OUR Y'S AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM, AND THE 923 CHILDREN IN THE SUMMER CAMP WE MAKE WE MAKE A HUGE IMPACT ON A LARGE NUMBER OF CHILDREN. MOTTO- OUR SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM PROVIDES A POSITIVE AND SAFE ENVIROMENT FOR THE CHILDREN IN OUR COMMUNITY WHERE THEY CAN ENJOY A SUMMER FULL OF ACHEIVEMENT, RELATIONSHIPS, AND BELONGINGS. EACH CHILD PARTICIPATES IN NEW EXPERIENCES THROUGH CAMPER CHOICE, WEEKLEY THEMED ACTIVITIES, FIELD TRIPS, DEVOTIONS, AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. AQUATICS AND SPORTS: MANY CHILDREN AND FAMILYS ARE LOOKING FOR RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES OUTSIDE OF THE SCHOOL DAY. THE YMCA PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES SUCH AS SOCCER, BASEBALL, VOLLEYBALL, SWIM TEAM, GROUP AND PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS. ALL PROGRAMS HAVE AN EMPHASIS ON THE VALUES OF THE YMCA. WE ARE COMMITTED TO IMPROVE THE MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT OF EACH PERSON WE SERVE.
