In addition, sign language is used throughout the day as a means of communication for some children, and additional visual input for others. We also have music specialists teaching the children rhythm and movement bi-weekly. The preschool/kindergarten children receive weekly instruction in music, "Art of the Masters", Spanish and Japanese. The materials in the school are designed with the children's specific development in mind. We individualize our teaching strategies and techniques to further each child's individual development. to us who have been diagnosed on the autistic spectrum. These children are usually non-verbal and making no eye or visual contact with those around them.Often within two months, after working with our curriculum, we see great progress in eye contact, children learning to verbalize their needs and making great progess in all areas. Our low student - teacher ratio of 10 children to 4 teachers in our Butterfly, toddler program facilitates this wonderful growth. We truly feel blessed to be able to offer such an incredible learning place for children, parents and caregivers with home visits and in our school. We maintain a supportive natural environment philosophy within all of our classrooms.
